Local:
- The upgrade of Comic Dish is steadily going forward. The proposed new system is Comicpress-based and is being adjusted to allow the features you request. But first you must request the features! There is a forum thread where you can discuss the upgrade and learn more about it.
Around the web:
- The SOPA and PIPA bills have been delayed. It's more or less looking unlikely that either of them will pass.

Local:
Machinegun Angel will be 3 years old as of February 3rd.
I will also be launching a new *full color* web manga called "Mad Science Bakery" this February.
- On the 17 of January Dead Metal's Reaper will celebrate 1 year of being on-line, even if the comic is older than that

-After YEARS of HARD WORK and DEDICATION Violent Tendencies has reached 20 comics! :)

 | I have posted a message on the Comic Dish 2.0 forum for some answers on what we need so that I can determine the best course of action. If you don't go and voice your opinion you risk losing functionality that you may depend upon.
So if you don't want your comic site to get hosed, go over and participate! :P

- Robin of Ley Lines is running a fanart/fanfiction contest called LeyLines Love! You can find out more information here!
- Hpkomic has a new project going called Bandit's Quest in which readers guide the story with their input.
Around the web:
- Comic Creators for Freedom has begun its donation drive.
- Fans of Penny Arcade put the hurt on an obnoxious customer service rep when he got flippant and unruly with a man who asked why his gaming peripheral had not been delivered yet.
- Comic artist Ryan Sohmer of Gutters got in trouble when he sent a Christmas card to major comic publishers of popular comic book characters worked into a picture of The Last Supper. Apparently Marvel was none too pleased and reprimanded him.
- The glorious Rob Liefeld has joined Keenspot!!! His character Avengelyne (famous from Liefeld's picture with the impossibly thin waist) is now starring in her own webcomic. Now before you go there to laugh, know that he's not the artist, but only responsible for the story.

 | It's been a while since we've had a community event, right? That's about to change.
We're bringing back the Character Bio event next week. This will be the perfect opportunity to create your own character bio pages for your comic, or improve the pages you have. Ever thought about creating a wiki? Need feedback on your profile pictures? Stumped on what information about your characters to include? We'll try to address all of these and more.
Check out the new thread in our Community Events section.
This event will run from January 8th to 15th. |
